Greens update: We have been working diligently in recovery mode to create a balance in our soils to sustain aggressive cultural practices, lower HOC and quicker greens. The recovery program was in place to protect the asset and after seeing our new soil reports I’m comfortable that we can begin our aggressive cultural practices to increase green speed while lowering the nitrogen inputs. Weak areas will continue special attention until the greens sod arrives next week.

We are performing a needle tine aerification on the greens this morning, this practice is non invasive to the putting surface. The target for this application is the hydrophobic area is on the Greens; this will allow water to penetrate areas that have become sealed off from compaction.
